This session will present research on how to evaluate online discussions as well as research on strategies used to benefit classroom discussions through the use of online discussions. Online instructional strategies and methods to analyze online discussions will be described including the results of a research study that compared high school students perceptions and academic performance between using online discussions before face-to-face classroom discussions with using online discussions after face-to-face discussions
